Invisalign and Insurance

Invisalign and Insurance near Los Angeles, CA

There are many dental insurance plans that cover Invisalign treatment, just like they cover other orthodontic interventions. Whether Invisalign and insurance will work out for you depends on what kind of insurance you have, what coverage you pay for, and what your diagnosis is. At Downtown Dental in Los Angeles, CA, we help our patients understand their benefits, so they know whether Invisalign is an option.

Does My Insurance Cover Invisalign?

Dental insurance plans often cover Invisalign treatments in the same way they cover braces:

  • Insurance may pay for a percentage of Invisalign treatment.
  • A certain dollar amount may be allotted for Invisalign.
  • You may have a lifetime cap for all types of orthodontic treatment.

The best way to know what kind of coverage you have is to ask your benefits manager at work, call your insurance carrier to speak to a customer service representative, or research your benefits package for orthodontic coverage. There will be different limits and coverage based on the level of a plan to which you belong and how many people are in your family.

For some patients, orthodontic care is covered by health insurance and not dental insurance. For others, it’s necessary to purchase and have dental coverage for six months to a year before the benefits can be used.

Even after all this research, always ask your dental office which insurance plans are accepted so you know not only what your benefits are but what your benefits with that particular dentist are.

Ways to Pay for Invisalign with or Without Insurance

If you have dental insurance that covers Invisalign but doesn’t cover the entire treatment, there are many other ways to make this smile makeover affordable:

  • Health savings account (HSA): This special savings account is designed for people who have a high-deductible health insurance plan. Putting money into this account regularly ensures that funds are available for certain dental, orthodontic, and medical costs, like Invisalign.
  • Flexible savings account (FSA): If you participate in your employer’s FSA, you pay money into the account throughout the year and use it for certain dental, orthodontic, or medical costs. You may be able to use these funds for Invisalign clear braces.
  • Financing: Downtown Dental is affiliated with Sunbit Financing, which offers low interest rates and reasonable payments, and has a 90% approval rate for applicants.
  • In-house options: Your dentist always has in-house financing options and affordable monthly payment plans to help patients achieve smile goals. We don’t want a healthy smile to be out of your reach.

Many patients assume that the $3,000 to $7,000 price tag of Invisalign isn’t possible for them, but it is always worth a conversation with your Los Angeles dentist to determine what you really can afford. For most, it’s more than you think you can manage, and just like that Invisalign becomes a reachable dream.

Oral Cancer Screening Video

Oral Cancer Screening Video
Every patient at Downtown Dental undergoes a thorough check for oral cancer and other dental health issues. This video shows how it’s done.
Here at downtown Dental, we take oral health and cancer screenings very serious. This month is November and it’s the month of oral health cancer awareness and screenings. Every patient we examined thoroughly, we look and we check their lips, tongue and we check for any abnormalities or bumps. At home you should also check to make sure that everything looks okayLeava is going to demonstrate what in oral health cancer screening is and what we examine. So, we first start off by checking all the lips. We make sure that the lips look healthy and that we palpate them, which is touching them and making sure that there’s nothing anormal. Then we go into the mucosa and check the cheeks. We’re going to look and check the hard palate as well as the soft palate. This might tickle a little. We checked the posterior of the tongue. Do you, Viola, go ahead and say, aaaaaa. We check the lateral sides of the tongue. Go ahead and sit your tongue showed up great. And we also check the floor of the mouth. Get the tongue to the roof of your mouth. Good all clear. Oral cancer is especially important to check the patients who are smokers, alcohol drinkers and we thank you for watching the video.
