What are same-day veneers?

The dentists at our office describe same-day veneers as a quick and efficient way to enhance the appearance of your teeth. These types of veneers can be placed in a single visit, unlike traditional veneers, which require multiple appointments. Veneers are characterized as thin, custom-made porcelain shells that fit over your natural teeth. They are usually used to improve the shape, size, color, and overall appearance of your smile. Traditional veneers involve a longer process where an impression is taken of your teeth and sent to a dental laboratory for fabrication. This means you must wait several weeks before receiving your final veneers.

Are veneers the best cosmetic dental treatment for me?

When considering your options for aesthetic dental work, the team will need to fully evaluate your teeth and mouth to help you determine if veneers are the best treatment for you. Factors that may impact this decision include:

  • The condition and health of your teeth. Veneers are unsuitable for patients with significant tooth decay, gum disease, or weakened enamel. Other treatments, such as fillings, crowns, or even dental implants, are a better option in these cases.
  • Your budget. Veneers are often more expensive than other cosmetic dental procedures. We want to ensure you make a sound investment in oral health and appearance.
  • Your desired results. While veneers drastically improve the appearance of your smile, they may not be the best choice if you have more complex dental issues, including misaligned teeth or a misaligned bite. In these cases, orthodontic treatment like braces or clear aligners may be necessary to achieve your desired results.
  • Your oral hygiene habits. Veneers require our potential patients to have good oral hygiene practices to ensure longevity and the continued health of their natural teeth. If you currently struggle with maintaining good oral hygiene, veneers may not be the best option for you, as they can increase the risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease if not properly cared for.

Oral Cancer Screening Video

Oral Cancer Screening Video
Every patient at Downtown Dental undergoes a thorough check for oral cancer and other dental health issues. This video shows how it’s done.
Here at downtown Dental, we take oral health and cancer screenings very serious. This month is November and it’s the month of oral health cancer awareness and screenings. Every patient we examined thoroughly, we look and we check their lips, tongue and we check for any abnormalities or bumps. At home you should also check to make sure that everything looks okayLeava is going to demonstrate what in oral health cancer screening is and what we examine. So, we first start off by checking all the lips. We make sure that the lips look healthy and that we palpate them, which is touching them and making sure that there’s nothing anormal. Then we go into the mucosa and check the cheeks. We’re going to look and check the hard palate as well as the soft palate. This might tickle a little. We checked the posterior of the tongue. Do you, Viola, go ahead and say, aaaaaa. We check the lateral sides of the tongue. Go ahead and sit your tongue showed up great. And we also check the floor of the mouth. Get the tongue to the roof of your mouth. Good all clear. Oral cancer is especially important to check the patients who are smokers, alcohol drinkers and we thank you for watching the video.
