Meet Our Hygienists
Priyam Shah - Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
As a child, Priyam spent countless hours in a dental office. Somewhere in between getting her cavities fixed and aligning her teeth, she fell in love with her dentist and the dental field. She strives to provide her patients the same comfort and care her dentist had given her.
In 2011, Priyam graduated with honors from the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry with an AA in Dental Hygiene. She received the Colgate STAR award for being the best student in her class. Before that, she received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. Priyam is known for her gentle treatment and friendly attitude. Patients love seeing Priyam regularly for their preventative dental treatment.
Other than dentistry, Priyam is very passionate about dancing, movies, food, and her family and friends. She also loves traveling to different countries and tries to take at least one international trip a year with her husband and/or friends.
"I firmly believe that what we do for patients at the dental office cannot be substituted for what patients don't do at home. So, I consider it my first and foremost duty to educate my patients about how they can keep up with their oral hygiene when they're not in my dental chair.”
Fernanda Arvizu – Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH, BSDH)
Fern was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and raised in Houston, Texas. While growing up in Houston she found her passion for dentistry, thanks to her mom. As she attended school and before becoming a Dental Hygienist, she worked as a Registered Dental Assistant for eight years.
After graduating from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s in Biology, she decided to venture out to Los Angeles. Shortly after moving, she attended West LA College and graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene. When Fern is not at work, she loves to spend time with her friends and family, explore the city, try new restaurants, travel, and work out.
“My goal for all of my patients is to provide the highest quality of care possible while making sure they have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. If they leave happy and excited to come back, I know that I have done my job right.”
Allison Cuevas – Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Allison is passionate about dentistry, public health, and communications. She graduated from USC School of Dentistry with a Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene with honors in 2012. Having grown up in a home with parents in the health care field, Allison became fascinated with preventative medicine. She knew from a young age that working with people in health was her calling. Allison is a graduate from the USC Keck School of Medicine 2014, where she received her Master’s in Public Health (MPH) with an emphasis in Communications. She has worked with LAUSD developing dental health educational materials and worked with Big Smiles and LA Trust creating dental events within the Los Angeles School District.
She’s a born and raised California girl. So, when she’s not working, she can be found on the beach soaking up some sun, going to concerts, snowboarding in the local mountains, and spending time with her beloved rescue Chihuahua, Honey Boo Boo.
"The best gift I can give any patient is educating them on their own oral health. I want each patient to know how to better their health outcomes, both intraorally and systemically. I love to help patients and work as a team to get them healthy for life!"
Brenda Soto – Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Brenda graduated cum laude from USC School of Dentistry with a Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene in 2018. During her education at USC, she also involved herself in a vast amount of community outreach programs the university had to offer.
She’s always felt passionate about supporting and providing for others, seeking opportunities to engage with her community at a young age. As a teen, she was especially drawn to dental hygiene after shadowing a close family friend at work. Once Brenda realized the opportunities for public involvement and education hygiene had to offer, she immersed herself in the dental world. She holds a reputation for her gentle hand, and calm, comforting demeanor.
Brenda was born and raised in Los Angeles. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and traveling around the world. She also enjoys jewelry making, drawing, hiking, dancing, music, and movies.
“The most crucial part of my role as a hygienist is working closely with and educating my patients. I want them to leave with a full understanding and positive outlook on their oral health, so they feel motivated to apply that knowledge to their daily habits and lives!”
